Hurricane Humberto weakening near Cape Verde

PRAIA, Cape Verde, Sept. 13 (UPI) -- Hurricane Humberto has weakened into a tropical storm as it moves north-northwest off the coast of western Africa, the National Hurricane Center said Friday.

The center predicted Humberto would be reduced from hurricane status by Friday. There are currently no coastal warnings in effect due to the storm.

The storm's sustained winds of 75 mph fell to 65 mph Friday morning

Humberto is currently about 765 miles northwest of the Cape Verde Islands in the Atlantic Ocean.
