No one was injured and no damage was reported. The shells exploded in open areas near the Syrian border, Army Radio said.
Since the eruption of the Syrian civil war almost three years ago, shells have fallen into Israeli territory as a result of fighting between Syrian regime and rebel forces. The last incident occurred in August.
Meanwhile, two Syrian infants suffering from high temperatures and vomiting were transferred to Israeli hospitals for treatment overnight Wednesday, Israel Radio said. The babies were accompanied by their mothers.
In addition, one Syrian male suffering from a serious head wound was transferred to an Israeli hospital for treatment, the radio report said.
Israel has treated almost 200 Syrian nationals since the fighting erupted in the country. The Israeli army has also set up a field hospital near the border with Syria to treat Syrian civilians harmed in the violence. Those who require treatment are then sent to hospitals in Israel.
