RICHARDS BAY, South Africa, Sept. 9 (UPI) -- Environment officials approved the dumping of 10,000 tons of coal into the sea from the MV Smart bulk carrier, which ran aground in Richards Bay, South Africa.
The carrier had already spilled about 50,000 tons of coal into the sea after it split in two when it ran aground last month, the South African Government News Wire reported Monday.
