6 people dead in China fire, blaze engulfs part of building

ZHUZHOU, China, Aug. 28 (UPI) -- Chinese authorities said six people were killed in a residential building fire early Wednesday morning in the central Hunan Province.

The fire broke out at the residential building in the city of Zhuzhou at 1:30 a.m., fire officials told Xinhua.

Firefighters put out the fire, which engulfed 328 square feet, after an hour and a half.

Officials have begun an investigation into the cause of the blaze, Xinhua reported.
