LONDON, Aug. 25 (UPI) -- A woman caught in a street shooting cross fire was killed on her 24th birthday as she came out of a London restaurant, police said.

Sabrina Moss, a nursery school teacher with a 4-year-old son, died at a hospital, the Daily Mirror reported. A friend who was also hit in the shooting in the Kilburn neighborhood in North London was hospitalized.

Detective Chief Inspector John Sandlin said the two women appeared to be "innocent victims."

"It would appear she was in the wrong place at the wrong time. She was leaving the Woody Grill when two males came from across the road and shots were fired," Sandlin said, adding that he did not think she was targeted.

Moss had been celebrating her birthday with the friend at the time of the 4 a.m. shooting.

A friend, Carla Goulart, sent a tweet saying she had made a birthday cake.

"Sabrina Moss you really bugged me for this cake... it was our pleasure making it for your 24th birthday. I will miss you a lot," Goulart said.
