Dr. Tatang Gianchandani, medical director of Jaslok Hospital, said the woman was in stable condition with internal and external injuries, Indian Express reported Saturday.

He said she had no broken bones or serious injuries.

Gianchandani described the patient as "depressed and still shaken" and had been provided psychological counseling.

Police said the attackers took cellphone pictures and videos of the victim during the assault and threatened to make the images public if she reported the incident.

An employed youth was arrested earlier in connection with the assault.
