MELBOURNE, Aug. 21 (UPI) -- An Australian man who has already served a prison term for killing one woman was given life with no parole Wednesday for killing another.

Steven James Hunter, 47, had pleaded guilty to the murder of Sarah Cafferkey, admitting he killed her in his Melbourne apartment, hid her body in a wheeled trash can, covered it with concrete and tried to dump it in the sea. Supreme Court Justice Kevin Bell told Hunter he cannot be safely released into the community, The Age reported.

Hunter has already spent more than half his adult life, 19 years, in prison. In 1986, he killed a young woman who turned down his sexual advances and then set her body on fire, a crime that earned him 13 years in prison.

While Hunter intended to dump Cafferkey's body in the sea, he discovered that, once the concrete set, he was unable to move the trash can.

Cafferkey's mother testified at a pre-sentencing hearing that she has flashbacks whenever she takes the trash out.
