35 Taliban militants killed in Afghan military operations

KABUL, Afghanistan, Aug. 21 (UPI) -- At least 35 Taliban militants died Wednesday during military operations across Afghanistan, the Interior Affairs Ministry said.

The operations took place in Kunar, Laghman, Baghlan, Kandahar, Uruzgan, Maidan, Wardak, Logar and Ghazni provinces, Khaama Press reported.

They were carried out by Afghan national police, the national army and the national directorate of security forces.

Eleven militants were injured in the attacks and nine others were arrested, the ministry said.
