KABUL, Afghanistan, Aug. 20 (UPI) -- Fighting between insurgents and Afghan security forces left 18 Taliban fighters and two police officers dead in Ghanzi province Tuesday, a local official said.

Zana Khan District Gov. Ahmad Zia Yaqubi said dozens of armed rebels stormed the Zana Khan district headquarters "in the wee hours of Tuesday" with the objective of capturing it, China's state-run news agency Xinhua reported.
