QUETTA, Pakistan, Aug. 8 (UPI) -- A suicide bombing in Quetta, Pakistan, Thursday killed 37 people at Pakistani police official's funeral, officials said.

The bombing happened as people -- mostly police officers -- were lining up for the funeral procession at a mosque, CNN reported.

The blast killed 37 people, as well as the bomber, and injured 50 others, Quetta Police Chief Mir Zubair Mehmood said.

Most of the injured were taken to a local hospital for treatment, Mehmood said.
