MASHARIH AL-QAA, Lebanon, Aug. 1 (UPI) -- Two shells from Syria hit the Lebanese border town of Masharih al-Qaa Thursday during clashes between Syrian government forces rebels inside Syria.

No damage or casualties due to the shelling were reported, The (Beirut) Daily Star reported.

Hundreds of Syrian families have crossed into Lebanon near Masharih al-Qaa, which has been hit by Syrian shells and gun fire several times since the start of Syria's more than 2-year-old civil war. Lebanon currently hosts more than 500,000 Syrian refugees.
