Man attacks bus passengers in Hong Kong, 11 injured

HONG KONG, July 31 (UPI) -- A man wielding a knife attacked passengers on a bus in Hong Kong Wednesday, injuring 11 people before he was subdued, police said.

The injuries were not believed to be serious, Xinhua News Agency reported. The incident occurred in the morning in the Tuen Mun area of the island as the bus was taking the passengers to the Tai Po Industrial Estate.

Police said a 60-year-old man began attacking other passengers but was subsequently subdued and handed over to police.

The motive for the attack was not immediately known as police were investigating the incident, Xinhua reported.
