Pakistani man in Italy gets restraining order for stalking fiancee

BOLOGNA, Italy, July 16 (UPI) -- A Bologna, Italy, court issued a restraining order to a Pakistani man whose jealous behavior led to his fiancee's suicide attempt, investigators said Tuesday.

The unidentified woman, 20, also Pakistani, decided to leave the man, 30, because of his possessive behavior. In response he threatened to "dishonor" her, saying her would show her father "intimate pictures" of her, taken before the marriage, the Italian news agency ANSA reported.

The parents were supportive of their daughter, ANSA said, adding she was on the brink of suicide over her fiances behavior, which led to involvement by Bologna police.

A judge issued the restraining order against the unidentified man for aggravated stalking.
