At least 10 alleged militants dead in Pakistan hideout strikes

PESHAWAR, Pakistan, July 14 (UPI) -- At least 10 suspected Islamic militants died Sunday and 12 others were injured when Pakistani jets attacked nine mountain hideouts, officials said.

Three secret bases were destroyed in one attack in the Akakhel area of Bara Tehsil in the Khyber tribal region, a source, whose affiliation was not reported, told Dawn News. Five alleged militants died and six others were injured.

Six militant hideouts were destroyed and four more alleged militants died in strikes carried out in the Kharmatong, Mansoor Sangar, Zawao Adda and Khawngai areas of the Dara Adam Khel region, Dawn News reported.

A senior military official confirmed the strikes took place "somewhere between Orakzai and Khyber," but didn't verify any further information.
