Bomb explodes near Tipton, England, mosque

TIPTON, England, July 12 (UPI) -- Police in Tipton, England, say they regard a bomb blast near a mosque Friday a terrorist incident after nails were found in the debris.

The bomb went off on an unused railway line near the Kanz-ul-Iman Muslim Welfare Association Central Jamia Mosque in the city in England's West Midlands, Sky News reported.

The investigation is being led by the West Midlands Counter Terrorism Unit, Britain's Channel 4 News said.

"Some residents (of the neighborhood) have reported finding debris in the area and finding nails," police said in a statement. "There are no reports of injuries to anyone."
