Wayne Anthony Trindall, 51, admitted in Campbelltown Local Court via video link to raping two women in southwest Sydney in 1989, the Australian Broadcasting Corp. reported.
Police used DNA samples to tie Trindall to the two attacks.
In one incident, he raped a woman at knifepoint in a caravan in Appin, using her stockings from a clothesline to tie her hands behind her back, court documents showed. The attack took place in front of the woman's 8-year-old daughter.
In his confession, Trindall allegedly said he went into the caravan intending to rob it, but decided to have sex with the woman instead.
In the second incident, police said, the former bricklayer raped a woman after picking her up along the road as she walked home. Trindall admitted taking her to a dirt track, hitting her over the head with a piece of wood and assaulting her.
A sentencing date for Trindall has not been scheduled, the Australian Broadcasting Corp. reported.
