Police find body of co-owner of Mexico City club where 12 disappeared

MEXICO CITY, July 3 (UPI) -- The burned body the owner of the Mexico City bar where 12 people vanished has been found with the charred bodies of his girlfriend and niece, officials said.

Federal officials would not confirm if the deaths were related to the disappearance of the 12 young people from the bar Heaven on May 26, Milenio reported Wednesday.

Officials said DNA testing revealed the victim was Dax Rodriguez Ledezma, whose whereabouts until Tuesday were not known.

Investigators said the bodies were found June 22 on a dirt road leading Morelos. Relatives said Rodriguez Ledezma and his girlfriend left to go to the movies on June 20 and hadn't been heard from since, Milenio said.

An arrest warrant was issued for Rodriguez Ledezma in the 12 disappearances from his bar after his brother, Mario Alberto Rodriguez Ledezma, surrendered to police, Milenio reported.

Separately, Javier Sicilia, leader of the Movement for Peace with Justice and Dignity, said Mexico City "is a dose of lawlessness" as evidenced by the disappearances.

"What's wrong with the government here?" Sicilia asked during a news conference outside of the National Palace.
