The BBC reported the bomb in Quetta was suspected to have been a suicide attack that killed 28 people in a Shia neighborhood that has been plagued by sectarian violence. Dawn newspaper reported 70 others were wounded in the attack.
Quetta police officer Mir Zubair Mehmood told Dawn the bomber was on a bicycle when he set off his explosives in a crowd in an area where there were strict security measures.
The blast in Peshawar targeted security forces and left 17 people dead and 46 injured, Dawn said.
The bomb was detonated in the Bedhber area by remote control as a paramilitary convoy patrolling the area passed by, CNN reported. Police said about 88 pounds of explosives were placed in the vehicle.
The British network said it wasn't known who was responsible for the bombings.
