Poland intercepts counterfeit Chinese condoms

June 26, 2013 at 1:48 PM

GDANSK, Poland, June 26 (UPI) -- Customs officials in Gdansk, Poland, said they confiscated 1.5 million Chinese condoms packaged to look like condoms from a Czech manufacturer.

The counterfeit products arrived in the northern port city in 500 cartons with packaging and a brand name identical to that of another producer, and were valued at 50,000 euros ($65,029), Polskie Radio reported Wednesday.

The case is the second seizure in Poland this year of counterfeit condoms from China. A smaller shipment was intercepted in February, Polskie Radio said.
