Suspects arrested in Peshawar mosque bombing

PESHAWAR, Pakistan, June 22 (UPI) -- Two suspects in a bombing that killed at least 15 people at a mosque in Peshawar, Pakistan, Friday have been arrested, police said Saturday.

A suicide bomber and at least two accomplices attacked the Madrassa Hussainia mosque and Imambargah Friday, killing 15 people and injuring at least 20 others, Dawn News reported.

Three attackers tried to enter the mosque but two were prevented from entering by guards, police said. The third managed to get in and was shot at by guards before he detonated a suicide vest.

Officials told Dawn News Saturday the two suspects were arrested after police received a tip on their whereabouts.

The suspects, who were injured by the blast Friday, were taken to a hospital for treatment before being transported to another location for interrogation, Dawn News said.
