JAKARTA, June 13 (UPI) -- A British contractor for Indonesia energy company Medco E&P was found unharmed Thursday, two days after being abducted in Aceh province, the company said.

Malcolm Primrose, an employee of PT Blade Energy Indonesia, was released "by police" near Alur Kol village and returned safely to his family, Medco E&P said in a statement.

Primrose "has been working in several oil and gas companies in the Aceh region as a drilling expert since 1981 and has contributed greatly to oil and gas drilling activities in Aceh," the statement said.

Primrose, 62, was abducted Tuesday in East Aceh, the company said.

District police said Primrose's driver was left tied up at the scene, the BBC reported. The driver said the kidnapping was carried out by four armed men but no shots were fired.
