PARIS, June 6 (UPI) -- A 19-year-old far-left political activist has been left brain dead after being attacked by far-right militants in central Paris, authorities said.
The three individuals who attacked the teen Wednesday were able to escape, police said.
The victim, Clement Meric, is originally from Brittany and was a political science student at the Sciences Po school, Radio France Internationale said.
Interior Minister Manual Valls has pledged to find the attackers, RFI said.
Far-left parties have alleged the attackers were part of a group called the Young Revolutionary Nationalists.
Leaders of the group have denied their members were involved in the attack.
A French student union Unef held demonstrations Wednesday to call for the dissolution of all extreme right groups.
