MURCIA, Spain, May 27 (UPI) -- Bodies found in Murcia, Spain, have been confirmed as those of Dutch volleyball player Ingrid Visser and her boyfriend Lodewijk Severein, police said Monday.

The couple disappeared May 13 after they checked into their hotel room in Murcia. A car they rented was later found on a city street, the news website Dutchnews.nl reported.

The Spanish newspaper El Mundo said the bodies of Visser, 35, and Severein, 57, were found half-buried in an orchard in Alqierias, 12 kilometers (seven miles) from Murcia.

At least one person was arrested, the news agency ANP said, quoiting Spanish police. The local newspaper La Verdad de Murica said more than one was arrested, persons who "have links with organized crime."

Visser played, between 2010 and 2012, for the local volleyball team CAV Murcia, Dutchnews.nl said.
