In recent visits by foreign ministers, the official said, most have urged Abbas to comply with a request by U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry to resume negotiations, the Palestinian news agency Ma'an reported.
The official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said Kerry has not received commitments from Israel to stop building settlements, accept a Palestinian state based on 1967 borders or come up with a two-state solution.
Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu may ease some restrictions on the Palestinian economy, the official said.
Kerry has asked officials on both sides to make "hard decisions" to revive the peace process.
