BEIJING, May 25 (UPI) -- A landslide near a coal mine in northwest China killed seven people Saturday, government officials said.

The landslide struck at 10 a.m. and buried a two-story dormitory housing workers at a coal mine in Cangcun Township, Shaanxi province, the Huangling County publicity bureau said.

Twelve others were injured and rescue workers completed their search of the building by 10 p.m. The injured were sent to a hospital, China's official Xinhua News Agency reported.
