ANKARA, Turkey, May 17 (UPI) -- Turkish police said they arrested a man who allegedly bought two cars used in two bombings that killed at least 51 people on the Syrian border last week.

Mehmet Genc was arrested and police sought to detain two other suspects who attempted to escape to Syria but failed because of increased security at the border, Today's Zaman reported.

Thirteen others had already been arrested in connection with the May 11 bombings.

The attack was linked to a pro-Syrian group based in Hatay and officials said there is a strong link to Syria's intelligence agency, Mukhabarat.
