Woman arrested in Bogota with 10-foot long boa constrictor

BOGOTA, May 16 (UPI) -- A Colombian woman was arrested in Bogota with a 10-foot long boa constrictor in her bag, police said.

The woman, whose name was not reported, used the snake to make money -- taking pictures of tourists with the reptile on busy streets in Bogota, Colombia Reports said.

The snake "had surgical tape over the orifice it would normally use for personal feeding, preventing it from breathing, eating and drinking satisfactorily," said Viviana Alvarado, the chief of Bogota's Environmental and Ecological Police.

The woman has been charged with environmental crimes committed against the boa, Colombia Reports said.
