KUWAIT CITY, May 12 (UPI) -- A pregnant woman, declared dead at a hospital in Kuwait just before delivery, came back to life after her baby was born, doctors said.
The 36-year-old Filipina mother was hospitalized Friday for high blood pressure, the hospital manager, Dr. Humoud Al Zobi told Gulf News.
The woman, whose name is not being released, suffered a heart attack, and shortly after, her heart stopped beating and she stopped breathing.
She was declared clinically dead, with no pulse or respiratory activity.
Doctors then performed an emergency Caesarean section, and delivered a healthy baby boy just as his mother began breathing again.
"This is a scientific miracle at all levels," Dr. Mohammad Hassan, who supervised the operation, said.
Both the baby and the mother are now in stable condition.
