Homeless man allegedly stabs U.S. citizen in Cairo

CAIRO, May 9 (UPI) -- A homeless man was arrested in Egypt after allegedly stabbing a U.S. citizen in the neck near the U.S. Embassy in Cairo on Thursday, officials said.

The suspect was arrested by the embassy's security personnel as he tried to flee the scene, al-Ahram reported.

The victim was treated by embassy doctors before being transported to a hospital.

The motive of the attack was unclear, al-Ahram said.
