PETERBOROUGH, England, May 8 (UPI) -- A woman was charged Tuesday with killing three men whose bodies, dead from stab wounds, were found in ditches in eastern England.
Joanna Dennehy, 30, of Peterborough was scheduled to appear before a magistrate Wednesday, the Peterborough Telegraph reported. She was charged with the murders of Kevin Lee, 48, Lukasz Slaboszewski, 31, and John Chapman, 56.
Lee's body was found March 30 in a ditch in the Newborough district of Peterborough. Slaboszewski and Chapman were discovered April 3 in a ditch at Thorney Dyke, about 8 miles east of Peterborough.
"We have today advised Cambridgeshire Police that there is sufficient evidence and it is in the public interest to charge Joanna Dennehy over the deaths of three men whose bodies were found in ditches in Cambridgeshire," said Grace Ononiwu, chief of the Crown Prosecution Service for the East of England.
Ononiwu said Slaboszewski is believed to have died on March 19 and the other two men on March 29.
Two Peterborough men had previously been charged in connection with the killings. Robert Moore, 55, faces charges of assisting an offender and Leslie Layton, 36, is charged with perverting the course of justice.
