Both prosecutors and attorneys for the princess had urged the court to drop the preliminary charges on grounds there was insufficient evidence to try her, CNN reported.
Judge Jose Castro, a magistrate investigating a case against Cristina's husband Inaki Urgandarin, issued the charges against the princess last month.
Castro had said in 2012 there was insufficient evidence to charge her in the case. Last month, he said he had changed his mind after further investigation and that Cristina should be questioned about "the handling and destination of funds" in her husband's foundation and another company.
Urgandarin is accused of diverting funds intended for the foundation to his own use.
Cristina is the youngest daughter of King Juan Carlos.
