Woman accused of hiding stillborn baby will get another trial

May 3, 2013 at 2:30 PM   |   Comments

MISSISSAUGA, Ontario, May 3 (UPI) -- Canada's Supreme Court agreed Friday that a woman charged with hiding her stillborn baby, and acquitted, should have a new trial.

The ruling upholds a decision of the Ontario Court of Appeal in the case of Anna Levkovic, who gave birth in 2006 in her Mississauga, Ontario, apartment.

She was charged with concealing the body of a child her landlord later found in a garbage bag, CBC News reported.

A lower court acquitted Levkovic of the charge but was reversed by the appeals court.
