STOCKHOLM, Sweden, May 3 (UPI) -- An explosion in an apartment in Stockholm, Sweden, killed an adult and two children early Friday and was investigated as a homicide, police said.

Firefighters said they discovered the bodies of the victims in a building in the Hallonbergen neighborhood after extinguishing flames caused by the blast, The Local.se reported.

"We have three people dead in unclear circumstances, which makes it a murder investigation," western Stockholm police spokesman Martin Sjoli told Sweden's TT news agency.
