Mother forced daughter, 14, to become pregnant, British court reveals

April 29, 2013 at 5:16 PM   |   Comments

LONDON, April 29 (UPI) -- A British court revealed a secret judgment Monday in which a woman was found to have forced her underage daughter to inseminate herself until she had a baby.

The ruling, which did not name the mother -- who was sentenced to five years in prison -- her adopted daughter or the judicial jurisdiction, said the teenager was ordered to inseminate herself seven times in a two-year period with sperm her mother purchased through the Internet. The girl had a miscarriage at 14 and gave birth at 16.

The court determined the mother became intent on the daughter giving birth after she was prevented from adopting a fourth child, The Daily Telegraph reported Monday.

The newspaper said the woman was sentenced to prison after admitting to child cruelty.

The judge who opened the ruling spoke of his "disbelief that a parent could behave in such a wicked a selfish way toward a vulnerable child."
