PARIS, April 28 (UPI) -- Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika was hospitalized in Paris after suffering a minor stroke, officials said.

Bouteflika suffered the stroke Saturday, Euronews.com reported.

State media said the 76-year-old president's condition is not serious.

Bouteflika was elected to the presidency in 1999 and is now in his third term. He is not likely to seek a fourth term when his presidency is up in 2014, Euronews.com said.
