April 27, 2013 at 3:12 PM   |   Comments

TRIPOLI, Lebanon, April 27 (UPI) -- A building government officials said was being constructed without a permit collapsed in the Lebanese city of Tripoli, injuring three workers.

Residents and city officials in Tripoli, Lebanon, have clashed recently, with city officials seeking to take down buildings that were built without permits they say aren't safe. Protesters barricaded streets and burned tires in an attempt to drive out government forces, The (Beirut) Daily Star said Saturday.

The newspaper said the workers injured in the collapse were treated at the site and released.
