April 20, 2013 at 11:17 AM

CAIRO, April 20 (UPI) -- Egyptian police said Saturday they arrested 39 people during a Cairo protest that turned violent and left 87 injured Friday.

An unidentified U.S. citizen was among those arrested at the downtown High Court Friday during a Muslim Brotherhood rally that led to clashes with counter-demonstrators.

A parked Muslim Brotherhood bus was set on fire, Ahram Online said.

The ruling Muslim Brotherhood party said on its website the trouble was caused by members of an anarchist-inspired group known as Black Bloc.
