MAGLIE, Italy, April 20 (UPI) -- A civil trial involving a stripper at the center of the prosecution of former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi has been delayed for a third time.
The trial was postponed when Karima El Mahroug did not attend a Friday deposition, ASNA reported.
The Moroccan woman, also known as Ruby, is identified as the injured party in the case against Tempo Zero nightclub manager Mino Brandolino and owner Silvano Turco. She was scheduled to perform in the Maglie club March 31, 2011, but the show was canceled because she arrived late and the owner refused to pay her, saying she violated the contract.
Court officials said they couldn't notify Mahroug about the deposition, ANSA said.
The trial was to run parallel with another court matter in which Mahroug was indicted for allegedly threatening the owner of another nightclub where she was supposed to perform.
Both trials were postponed until July 19, when her depositions are scheduled.
Berlusconi is on trial in Milan on a charge of having sex with Mahroug when she was an underage prostitute.
