ISLAMABAD, April 17 (UPI) -- Pakistan's defense spending next fiscal year could rise to $6.37 billion from this year's $5.53 billion, budget documents showed.
Dawn newspaper reported Wednesday the priorities committee, which met at the Pakistan Finance Ministry to consider a summary of the defense budget, decided on a 13 percent increase in defense spending in 2013-2014 fiscal year to $6.37 billion.

The report said the current allocation of $5.53 billion accounts for 18 percent of the country's overall budget.
