Factory in central China hit by explosion; unknown number of casualties

HUBEI, China, April 13 (UPI) -- An explosion and fire caused an undetermined number of casualties Saturday at a factory in central China's Hubei Province, officials said.

The explosion occurred in the factory's warehouse, where thousands of chemical tanks were stored, China's official Xinhua news agency reported.

More explosions were heard as firefighters worked to put out the fire, the report said.
