Musharraf ordered before high court

April 8, 2013 at 3:28 PM

ISLAMABAD, April 8 (UPI) -- Former President Pervez Musharraf was ordered to appear before Pakistan's Supreme Court to answer questions related to treason charges against him.

The court Monday also directed the Islamabad police to ensure Musharraf came to court Tuesday, Dawn.com reported.

Justices ordered the former general's name be added to a list of people who are restricted from leaving the country.

The charges against Musharraf were made in a petition filed by two members of the Lahore High Court Bar Association.

Musharraf spent more than four years in exile, but returned to Pakistan March 24 to become a contender in the country's general elections.
