MOSCOW, March 29 (UPI) -- Russian activist Leonid Razvozzhayev, accused of plotting a foreign-funded government coup, collapsed in a Moscow court Friday after he was denied bail.

An ambulance was called for the leader of the Left Front leader and he was treated at the site, the Russian news agency RIA-Novosti reported.

Razvozzhayev, returned to Moscow after he was jailed in Siberia on armed robbery charges, made headlines in October when he claimed to have been abducted by Russian security forces and tortured into confessing to the charges of orchestrating a coup against Russian President Vladimir Putin, RIA-Novosti said.
