Italian police seize $192M in Mafia assets

REGGIO CALABRIA, Italy, March 29 (UPI) -- Police in Italy's southern Calabria region said they seized more than $192 million in property and bank accounts in raids against the 'Ndrangheta Mafia.

The raids were carried out in the city of Reggio Calabria at businesses believed to have ties to the 'Ndrangheta, ANSA reported.

The 'Ndrangheta Mafia operates throughout Italy and elsewhere in Europe, police said.
