MAOMING, China, March 28 (UPI) -- A fire that broke out in a residential building in China Thursday morning left five dead and another five injured, officials said.
Three women and two men living on the fourth and fifth floors of the building in Maoming died from suffocation, the state-run Xinhua news agency reported.

The five injured were sent to the hospital.
Officials said the charging of an electric motor may have caused the fire.
The fire was put out 40 minutes after it broke out, Xinhua said.
