THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, India, March 25 (UPI) -- A bus rolled 150 feet down a hillside in India Monday, killing seven people and injuring several others, authorities said.

The bus, carrying 41 students from the Sarabhai Institute of Science and Technology, was traveling from Kodaikanal in Tamil Nadu toward Munnar when it swerved off the road and down the hill, the Indo-Asian News Service reported.

Six students and an older man who was part of the bus crew were killed. The injured included two people who were in serious condition, the news report said.

State Home Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan said the medical expenses of those who were injured would be covered by the government.

"Right now, our aim is to see that the injured get the best treatment and authorities are ensuring that," Radhakrishnan said.
