MUGLA, Turkey, March 25 (UPI) -- A 20-year-old mother in Turkey has been accused of killing her newborn son by throwing him out a six-story window, police said.
The mother, identified as S.C., allegedly gave birth to the boy in the bathroom of her apartment, then threw him out of a window, police said. The child struck a car below.
The young woman at first told authorities she did not remember the Friday night incident in the Milas district of Mugla, then later allegedly said she may have thrown her child to his death, Dogan News Agency reported.
S.C. was hospitalized following the incident for blood loss and then arrested Saturday after she was discharged from a hospital.
The suspect told police she had a boyfriend, identified as A.B., who initially forced her to have sex with him, and that they later had consensual sex.
