Turkey unwraps first home grown missiles

ANKARA, Turkey, March 19 (UPI) -- Turkey has unveiled its first domestically made long-range missile it says is capable of destroying tanks and concrete bunkers.

The UMTAS missiles can hit targets three miles away, the Anadolu News Agency reported Tuesday.

The rockets also can be used by Turkish attack helicopters.

Roketsan, a major Turkish defense contractor, developed the missiles.
