TORONTO, March 19 (UPI) -- A former Toronto teacher said he admits to physically mistreating students by dragging them into the hallway and hanging them upside down by their feet.

Thomas Adrian Foster appeared before an Ontario College of Teachers disciplinary committee Monday where he also admitted calling a middle school student a moron, the Toronto Star reported.

The panel suspended Foster's teaching license for three months and ordered him to take an anger management class, as well as a class on effective student discipline, before returning to work, the Star said.

The incidents occurred at two Toronto boarding schools from 2003 to 2006 when Foster was fired.

Foster told the committee he has decided teaching is not for him and is not hoping to return to work in a classroom.

But Foster could return to work as a teacher if he gives the college 30 days' notice and completes the mandated classes, the Star said.
