Mexican fireworks blast death toll hits 16

NATIVITAS, Mexico, March 16 (UPI) -- The death toll from a fireworks explosion in Mexico reached 16 Saturday, a government news agency said.

Notimex said more than 150 people were injured the Friday blast in the central Mexico community of Nativitas, CNN reported.

The fatal incident occurred when fireworks went astray and landed in a truck carrying "a significant amount" of other fireworks, Notimex said.
