Jordan: Crash kills at least 15; 42 hurt

AMMAN, Jordan, March 16 (UPI) -- Jordanian officials said at least 15 people were killed and 42 were injured Saturday when a bus carrying religious pilgrims crashed near Amman.

The bus was carrying a large group of Palestinians back to the West Bank from a pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia when it struck a van and overturned.

The bus driver was among those killed.

The Palestinian news agency Ma'an said 25 victims were transported to hospitals in Amman, including five in critical condition.

Most of the victims were reported to be from the city of Jenin, a Palestinian city in the northern West Bank.

The Jerusalem Post said the Israeli government was helping relatives of the victims enter Jordan.
